Natural Dye Workshop

These pictures are from a Natural Dye Workshop I went to in July 2013, run by Claire Wellesley-Smith   Claire is very knowledgable about natural dyes and set the workshop up for us on the first day ready to sample dye three fabrics in wool, silk and cotton.

DAY TWO

On the second day Claire prepared Woad to make the colour Indigo.

The first dip, reveals a fresh green, 
slowly turning to Indigo after a few minutes..
